API terms and conditions
1. Introduction
These terms (“API Terms”) govern your access to the Quantis API (the “API”), its documentation at docs.vzla.io/quantis/v3, and Quantis Center at center.quantis.vzla.io (“Center”), where you manage your account, keys, plan and usage. The API is operated by Vzlaio digital LLC (“Vzla.io”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, creating a key or sending a request, you accept these API Terms. If you accept them for an organization, you confirm you may bind it, and “you” means that organization. How we handle data about your use of the API is described in the API privacy policy.
2. The data
- The API returns exchange rates published by public sources (such as the Banco Central de Venezuela, Binance and national banks). Each source refreshes on its own schedule; polling faster than a source refreshes returns the same answer.
- The data is informational. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
- We do not guarantee that the data is accurate, complete, current or available, except as set out in a signed Enterprise agreement with a service level (SLA).
3. Account and plans
- You need a Center account to create keys. Each account has one plan at a time.
- Each plan has its own price, monthly quota (or none), rate limit, maximum number of keys, and possibly trial and grace days. The current values are shown in Center and may change. A change in price applies from your next paid period.
- Quota and rate limit apply per account, never per key. Extra keys are credentials for your environments and rotation; they add no quota.
- Every plan has a rate limit, including Unlimited. “Unlimited” means no monthly quota.
- Enterprise plans are private plans agreed with one client.
- A promotional plan (such as Founder) may be offered for a limited time or number of clients. Clients who join it keep its plan and price while they keep paying without a lapse.
4. Trials, billing and lapses
- A plan may start with a trial. When the trial ends without a payment, the account returns to the default plan.
- Paid plans are billed per 30-day period, paid in advance. Your period is extended once we confirm your payment.
- If a period ends without payment, the account returns to the default plan after the plan’s grace days.
- Fees already paid are not refunded, except where the law requires it.
5. Keys
- A key is shown once, when you create it. We store only a hash; no part of a key is shown again, in Center or by our staff. If you lose a key, revoke it and create a new one.
- Keep your keys secret. Do not put them in public code, in an app sent to end users, or in a web page.
- Do not share keys outside your organization. You are responsible for all requests made with your keys.
6. Permitted and prohibited uses
You may use the data inside your own software and services, within your plan’s limits. Without an Enterprise agreement, you may not:
- Resell, sublicense or redistribute the data, alone or as a feed or dataset.
- Use the API as the backend of a public app or service, so that its users get the data from the API through you.
- Get around quotas or rate limits, for example with several accounts or shared keys.
- Use the API in a way that harms its availability for others, or for any unlawful purpose.
- Present the data as advice, or as coming from Vzla.io rather than from its original source.
7. Throttling and suspension
We may throttle requests, or suspend or close an account, that exceeds its limits, shares keys, breaks these API Terms or puts the service at risk. Where reasonable and lawful, we give notice first.
8. Changes to the API
We may add, change or remove endpoints, sources or fields. Older API versions, and keys created for them, may be retired. We aim to announce breaking changes and retirements in advance in the documentation or by email.
9. Intellectual property
The API, Center, the documentation and our compilation of the data belong to Vzla.io or its licensors. The original rates belong to their sources. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the API under these API Terms.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The API is provided “as is” and “as available”, except as set out in an Enterprise SLA. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, money, data or goodwill, including losses from prices, invoices or transactions based on the data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the API in the three months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the API and close your account at any time by writing to support@vzla.io. We may end your access under section 7, if required by law, or if we discontinue the API. Sections 2, 6, 9 and 10 survive termination.
12. Governing law
These API Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these API Terms. Material changes are announced by email or in Center before they take effect. If you keep using the API after that, you accept the updated terms.
